S.U.B. stands for Santos Urban Bike. A bike that has the stability and control of a mountain bike, the style and comfort of a so-called beach bike (cruiser) and the ease of a conventional city bike.
S.U.B. is, in short, the synonym for the ultimate weekday bicycle. A bike that you take to go shopping, a bike for riding along the promenade on a sultry summer evening, a bike for taking to the terrace in the city. Recreational riding through the park and forests around town or the coastal reserves. That sort of feeling. A 'cool' bike. Mellow. But absolutely top quality!



The S.U.B. cuts a striking figure in the Santos range. People love to admire it in the street, especially in the version shown above - Sahara Yellow, with leather saddle and handgrips and Fat Frank tyres.
Incidentally, the extra wide tyres provide a very comfortable ride (air-cushioning) and ensure a very light ride. This is a surprising result of experiments with Schwalbe Big Apple tyres in the Schwalbe test centre in Germany. There it was discovered that wider tires have lower rolling resistance than the smaller version of the same type of tyre. These wide tyres also contribute to the unique appearance of the S.U.B., as does the lightweight straight aluminium front fork combined with the retro handlebars. Added to the stylish design, these extras make the S.U.B. more than an everyday bike (which is actually very special) even though it is designed for everyday use.



Built with an eccentric bottom bracket!
The geometry of the frame of the S.U.B. is derived from a mountain bike and hand built. The headset is half integrated into the head tube - very chic. The frame comes standard with an eccentric bottom bracket on which the chain can be stretched to tension. This makes it possible for the S.U.B. to be supplied with a derailleur or with hub gears (fitted with a Rohloff 14-gear Speedhub - then you have something really special).


Available in 24 different colors
The frame is available in two sizes: Medium and Large. And not only in Sahara Yellow, but also in 23 other colours. Colours that you can actually compare with each other at the Santos Premium Dealers. These dealers have a Santos Display in their showroom where you can choose from the parts which you can use to build your own custom S.U.B., just like the customiser on this website. On this site you do that by yourself ... with the dealer you have the extra support of his skills and professionalism.
